William Amadeo felt driven to become an attorney after seeing the injustices during his youth in Atlantic City, New Jersey. His legal knowledge paired with his time spent in journalism drives him to thoroughly investigate all angles of a case.
Amadeo understands the importance of creative thinking when it comes to defense strategies and works closely with his clients to ensure that every detail of the case is fully explored. He is extremely dedicated to his clients, and always puts their needs first. Amadeo has crafted arguments that have led him to success on cases of first impression in the state of Michigan and has developed a reputation for his incredible work ethic.
Amadeo’s career started in the field of civil litigation while working for famed New Jersey attorney Tim McIlwain on the EA Sports case. Amadeo did hundreds of hours on research on this case and has written briefs that have been before the New Jersey Supreme Court. After practicing civil litigation exclusively for two years in New Jersey, Amadeo moved back to Michigan where he continued his involvement in the field. Currently, Amadeo is lead counsel on matters in New Jersey and Michigan against several Fortune 500 companies and is known to use his creativity to find mechanisms to provide recovery for his clients.
Amadeo developed a passion for criminal law when he started to work with Scott Grabel of Grabel and Associates as an Associate Attorney in addition to his partnership at Ann Arbor Legal. Amadeo has been involved in some of the most contested matters in the state of Michigan. He specializes in CSC defense and theft crimes and has developed a stellar reputation in the field and has been quoted covered regularly by MLive and an array of newspapers within the state of Michigan.
Education and Activism
Amadeo graduated with a BA in Communications from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. While at Stockton, he was an editor of the sports section of the student newspaper “The Osprey” to go along with being captain of the school’s Forensic Team. Amadeo was the youngest person ever to be nominated for President of Local 54 in Atlantic City, New Jersey where he developed a passion for Labor Law and worked on many mediation and arbitration’s during his time in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Amadeo was also the youngest person ever named to the union’s “Contract Negotiating Committee” when he represented Tropicana Hotel and Casino at the age of 23.
Amadeo earned his JD from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Lansing, Michigan in 2008. Shortly thereafter, he developed BAT Tutoring which helped law students with their law school studies along with preparation for the Michigan and New Jersey Bar Exam.
Professional Associations and Memberships
Amadeo is currently licensed in both Michigan and New Jersey. In addition to this, he has also practiced in California and in the federal court system. He is an an active member of the Animal Legal Defense Fund and the American Cancer Society and has done fundraising for both organizations. To go along with this, Amadeo is a staff writer for “The Chronicle News” covering legal issues with their newspaper and website. For networking and athletics, Amadeo is a member of Caerusnet and Huron River CrossFit and played travel baseball throughout college and has also been an active member of many competitive softball leagues throughout the state of Michigan.
